The Moyes Eye Center is a 25,000 SF Ambulatory Surgery Center and Eye Clinic. The multiple architectural features and structural components of the facility made for both an interesting building aesthetics as well as challenging construction details. The precast concrete panels met with structural steel, metal framing with composite metal panels, and curtain-wall building skin to create the many unique architectural features of the design by ACI Boland. Serving as Construction Manager, Excel worked closely with the owner and designers to maintain the constructability and cost-effectiveness of the project suggesting and incorporating several value engineering options.
The facility includes clinical and surgical space with state of the art equipment for LASIK vision correction, cataract surgery, corneal transplants, glaucoma and dry eye treatment. The eye center is complete with two OR’s, twelve exam rooms and multiple areas designated for procedures and research as well as a 10,000 SF of underground parking garage for staff.
The spacious and advanced facility will help Moyes Eye Center continue their tradition of excellence in medical/surgical resources for their patients and colleagues, as well as their commitment to be an elite, regional referral center specializing in disease and surgery of the eye.
