Excel has renovated / remodeled over $30 million dollars in a variety of projects for the Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
Past projects include a 13 phase renovation of the Emergency Department. Excel also earned the ‘Excellence in Construction’ award presented by the Associated Builders and Contractors, HOA Chapter, for the Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Chamber.
Emergency Department
This project is a 9,702 square foot tenant finish for the SMMC Outpatient Pavilion. The 24/7 Emergency Department provides around-the-clock care for the entire family from Board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians and anexperienced support staff.
The Emergency Department features a separate entrance from the rest of the facility, allowing patients to receive high-quality emergency services as quickly as possible.
Surgery Center
This project is a 11,482 square foot tenant finish for the SMMC Outpatient Pavilion.
The Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art center equipped to provide many kinds of same-day, minimally invasive procedures. The multi-specialty center offers general surgery services, as well as urological surgery, plastic surgery,endoscopy and pain management.
The center features four surgery suites, one treatment room, six pre-operative bays and 12 recovery bays. The open layout and colors are designed to be calming and relaxing for patients, and each recovery room is equipped with a flat-screen television.
Imaging Center
This project is a 5,209 square foot tenant finish for the SMMC Outpatient Pavilion. The Imaging Center features a full range of state-of-the art imaging technology, including a 64-slice CT scanner, MRI, X-ray, digital mammography and ultrasound.
The Imaging Center also houses the first fully digital Rad-Fluoro technology, as well as the latest radiology
picture archiving communication system (PACS) to store images digitally in lieu of film. This system allows for the immediate transfer of scanned images to physician offices or other locations. Santa Fe Surgery Building: Shawnee Mission Medical Center relocated their Ambulatory Surgery Center to the 3rd floor of the new Santa Fe Medical Building on the hospitals main campus.
The 18,000 square foot ASC includes six operating rooms and support spaces. The project included a new boiler room on the second floor and a new roof mounted HVAC unit.
