This project included new construction of a two-story 43,000 sf surgery center on a 6-acre site that provides 360 parking spaces for patients, visitors, and employees. The steel framed building’s exterior façade includes custom metal panels, brick, native stone, and glass wall systems. A canopy on the East side of the building provides protection for patients entering or being discharged from the building.
Upon entry into the building, a two-story lobby with a 28’0” tall water feature greets patients and visitors. A tremendous amount of daylight harvesting provides an abundance amount of natural daylight to improve the patient experience.
A surgery center occupies a portion of the 1st floor that includes (5) operating rooms and (16) Pre-Op/Post-Op patient bays. A sterile processing department, storage, and other critical support areas provide an environment for staff to deliver high quality services to the patient. Creative vision to construct a window wall between surgery pre-op and the physical therapy area enhanced the patient experience and mental capacity.
The physical therapy area on the 1st floor includes a synthetic turf area for agility, aerobic, and cardio training along with state-of-the-art equipment to support patient recovery. Two (2) overhead garage doors open to allow fresh air to enter the space and an exterior area designated for additional training space.
The orthopedic and general surgery suites occupy the 2nd floor. A large catwalk area designated as a waiting room welcomes patients with 2 large overhead coiling doors. Strategically located on the 2nd floor catwalk, the waiting area overlooks the physical therapy area with prime view of the large LED video board. The LED video board displays sporting activities while enhancing the patient experience and also providing entertainment for family members, visitors, and staff.
