On October 1, 2015 the Moyes Eye Center in Kansas City, Missouri held a ribbon cutting ceremony in celebration of the grand opening of their new facility. Excel Constructors is proud to be part of bringing the Moyes Eye Center to the Northland. It was a joy constructing an environment that will allow Dr. Andrew Moyes and his staff to use the latest technology to continue bringing improved sight to their patients in the Kansas City community and beyond.
Project Overview: Excel Constructors recently completed construction of the new Moyes Eye Center in the Northland. This 25,000 SF Ambulatory Surgery Center and Eye Clinic features state of the art equipment for LASIK vision correction, cataract surgery, corneal transplants, glaucoma and dry eye tre atment. Two OR’s, twelve exam rooms and multiple areas designated for procedures and research will well serve the community and the unique team of doctors dedicated to providing exceptional service.
The precast concrete, composite metal panel, cast stone and curtain-wall building skin accentuate the many architectural features of the design by ACI Boland Architects that also includes 10,000 SF of underground parking. Serving as Construction Manager, Excel worked closely with the Owner and Designers to maintain the constructability and cost-effectiveness of the project suggesting and incorporating several value engineering options.
