Lisa joined Excel Constructors in 1996. Lisa is an integral part of Excel’s cost accounting team whose primary responsibility is working with subcontractors on contract documentation, compliance and payment. Her entire professional career has been in the construction industry which allows her to provide exceptional service to one of Excel’s most important constituents, its subcontractors.

Excel Constructors welcomes Troy Bechtel back to the Excel’s corporate office and is joining us as a Senior Project Manager. He has over 24 years of expertise in the construction industry with experience focusing on complex projects using multiple delivery methods in the public and private markets.  Troy has a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science and Management from Kansas State University. Having experience with numerous healthcare projects, Troy will bring a vast amount of knowledge that will contribute greatly to our team here at Excel Constructors.

Russ Befort joined the Excel team as our newest Project Manager in 2020. He received a degree in International Business and Economics from Fort Hays State University and has spent the last eight years as a Project Manager in the construction industry. His expertise allows him to jump into his role at Excel and we are confident he will be an asset to our company.

Ricky Bennett joined Excel Constructors in 2011 and has been a hard working Special Project Leader for nearly 10 years. He was promoted to Superintendent in 2019 and is completing his first project at Genesis Health Club in Overland Park.

Aaron joined Excel in 2004 as a Laborer, then transitioned to a Carpenter in 2014 and eventually developed into his current position as Superintendent. Aaron graduated from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Heart of America Carpentry Program in 2014. His ability to address challenges, execute a wide variety of tasks and manage jobs from start to finish makes him a valuable asset to Excel.

Melinda joined Excel Constructors in 2014 as the Human Resources Director. Her responsibilities include administering Excel’s benefit plans, attracting, hiring, motivating, training and retaining the best employees in order to provide the highest quality of service to our clients. She also works with Excel’s Safety Director to promote safe worksites for all project locations. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pittsburg State University and a Masters of Arts in Human Resources from Ottawa University. Melinda holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from HRCI and a SHRM-CP from SHRM.

Before joining Excel Constructors in 1998, Kellee began her career in the construction industry in Tampa, Florida, with a major general contractor headquartered in Detroit. Since then, she has been involved in all aspects of the industry including estimating, project administration, safety, training and human resources.  This broad spectrum of construction experience brings unquestioned value to each of her projects. Kellee appreciates the importance of teamwork and as a result provides effective communication and organization throughout every stage of a project. She strives in creating and maintaining a great working relationship with our clients, subcontractors, project managers and superintendents.

Jeremy Cuno joined Excel Constructors in 2015 as a Project Engineer. He has been a part of the construction industry for 12 years with experience as a Project Manager and a Project Supervisor overseeing large scaled commercial concrete jobs. Jeremy has a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Central Missouri and Technical degrees in Machining Integrated Manufacturing and machine Tool Technology I & II.

In 2012, Stasi started with Excel Constructors and is the first point of contact for the company’s customers and vendors. She performs a variety of administrative duties and interacts with all of our employees, subcontractors, vendors and clients.

Mark joined Excel in 2015 as a Carpenter and was promoted in 2017 to his current role as a Special Project Leader. Prior to joining Excel, Mark spent nearly 30 years in the industry as a journeyman carpenter and foreman on many Kansas City construction projects. Mark was part of the field leadership team on Excel’s largest Senior Living project.

Kara joined Excel in 2018 as our Preconstruction and Marketing Coordinator. She graduated from Kansas State University with degrees in Hospitality Management and Business. With her extensive knowledge from her previous position in preconstruction, she was promoted to Project Administrator in 2023.

Jerry Dudziak started at Excel Constructors in 2022 as a Project Superintendent. After his previous experience as a skilled tradesman and Superintendent working on large multi-family and health care projects, Jerry fit the role perfectly and has had tremendous success at Excel. We look forward to seeing what else he will achieve here.

Ryan started with Excel in 2021 as our Assistant Superintendent. He graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science in Technology for Construction Management and then spent time as a Junior Superintendent before he joined Excel. The knowledge he gained from college and the few years he spent as a junior superintendent have helped him to be an amazing addition to our team. He stated that being at Excel has been a great opportunity because he’s gotten to absorb the wealth of experience from those around him.

 

Mike started with Excel in 2011 as a Carpenter. He has worked on numerous large projects including Donnelly College, Santa Marta Retirement Community, and the Little Sisters and Little Brothers of the Lamb. His experience gives him a great understanding of Excel’s processes and his hard work and determination which led to his promotion as Special Project Leader and shortly after as a Superintendent. 

 

Chad has been with Excel Constructors since 2011 and has over 21 years of expertise in the construction industry. With Excel, he has worked on numerous projects including QuikTrip stores in the Kansas City area.  Chad started with Excel as a carpenter primarily assigned to our QuikTrip work. This experience provided a solid foundation to manage field operations which led to his promotion to Special Project Leader and eventually Superintendent.

Dan began working for Excel Constructors in 1999 as a Carpenter then became a Special Projects Leader and eventually developed into his current position as Superintendent. Dan’s skills as a master carpenter bring invaluable experience to our many remodel projects and is a great asset to our team.

Darin has been with Excel Constructors since 2003 and started as a Carpenter before moving into his current role as a Superintendent. Darin has a record of on-time performance and keen attention to detail and quality assurance have made him a tremendous asset, especially on large complicated Mission Critical projects. He has traveled throughout the Midwest to manage many of our Telecommunication projects.

Kris has been with Excel Constructors since 1998 as a carpenter and transitioned into a role of Special Project Leader. Shortly after that he was then promoted to superintendent in 2022. Kris has gained experience through a wide range of projects and has received awards for Outstanding Field Leadership on three different projects from ABC. Kris has been a great part of our team and says that the best thing about being at Excel is the caring and co-operative culture he has with his coworkers.

 

Rick has been working as a Superintendent at Excel Constructors since 1998. He is an integral part of developing and maintaining the relationship with QuikTrip Corporation for which Excel has completed a long list of projects. His extensive list of QuikTrip locations expands the greater Kansas City area.

Eric joined Excel in 2018 as our Estimating Coordinator. Eric supports our preconstruction, estimating and business development efforts by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for bidding and budgeting construction projects. Following his college studies at Johnson County Community College and George Washington University, Eric enlisted with the United States Army where he served for five years. From his education, military training and previous construction experience, Eric acquired the skills necessary to produce detailed estimated critical to accurate construction pricing.

Jim Joyce joined our team in 2023 as a Project Superintendent. His past experience has helped him jump right into his new role with Excel. Jim studied at the University of Kansas and has had the opportunity to work on numerous note worthy, high visibility projects over the years as a tradesman, contractor and working in field management.

Ryan joined Excel Constructors in 2015. He provides support to the Senior Accounting Manager and Chief Financial Officer by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports. Ryan uses his technical expertise and years of experience managing Information Technology systems to ensure Excel’s everyday processes are running smoothly. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Kansas.

Derek joined Excel Constructors in 2023 as an Assistant Project Manager. He graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction and has experience in large scale construction projects. Derek has been a great asset to Excel!

Jon Tippie began working at Excel Constructors in 2008 as a Carpenter before moving into his role as Special Project Leader in 2016. After 26 years in the industry, and many noteworthy projects including B&B Theatres, Jon was promoted to Superintendent in 2019.

Amy joined Excel Constructors in 2017 as a Project Administrator when she provided project coordination and communication throughout the preconstruction and construction phases of a project. In her current role as Social Media Administrator, Amy responsibilities include planning, implementing and monitoring Excel’s social media strategy on social media platforms to promote its brand, projects and community involvement.

In 1991 Amy started at Excel Constructors and is one of its most tenured members. Her depth of experience in project administration provides project coordination and constant communication throughout the entire preconstruction and construction phases of a project. Amy has been behind many of Excel’s most noteworthy projects, including its largest mission critical project. For this project, Amy moved to Oklahoma for 15 months to provide on-site administration. Amy received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama.

Matt has been with Excel Constructors since 2010 and has many of our repeat clients specifically requesting for him to be involved in their projects. Matt brings a high level of organization, site administration and communication skills to all of his projects. He holds a bachelor degree in Construction Science from Central Missouri State University and received training from the Kansas City Carpenter’s Apprenticeship Program- Journeyman.
